Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University Organizes Knowledge Exchange Activity under the 2025 Silpakorn Summer School Program

On June 11, 2025, the Faculty of Education, Silpakorn University organized the 2025 Silpakorn Summer School Program, a short-term international exchange initiative welcoming 50 faculty members and students from Ton Duc Thang University (Vietnam), Chengdu University, and Yunnan University (People’s Republic of China). The program is part of Silpakorn University’s internationalization policy and aims to provide international students with opportunities to learn and gain hands-on experience through engagement with both the Faculty of Education and its professional learning community network.

In the morning session, participants engaged in the activity “Taste of Thai”, which promoted Thai cultural learning through the art of Thai cooking. The session was led by Ms. Sumalee Songsiri, Mr. Teerapat Chimpipop, and Mr. Thanyakorn Chuangpho, who shared insights into Thai cuisine—highlighting its cultural roots, connections to Thai ways of life, and its significance in Thai society.

The afternoon featured “Dance to Understand… Watch to Embrace Thainess”, an immersive experience in traditional Thai dance. Facilitated by Mr. Kitisak Suthi and Ms. Kanyapak Srisawat, the activity offered foundational training in Thai classical dance and explained the cultural meanings behind various dance movements, allowing participants to explore the deeper values embedded in Thai performing arts.

Also in the afternoon was “Thai Craft Time”, where students had the opportunity to learn about and create krathong (decorative banana leaf floats) by hand—a traditional Thai handicraft. This session was guided by Ms. Thatcha Palakawong Na Ayutthaya and Mr. Kanchanan Khawda, who provided both technical instruction and cultural context, offering a deeper appreciation for the heritage and philosophy behind Thai traditional craftsmanship.
